Privacy Policy: LFL Word Lens browser extension

The short version
- Word Lens only acts when you select a word or short phrase on a web page. It does not read or collect the pages you browse.
- The text you select is sent to our server to produce a translation or explanation. We use an AI service (Anthropic) for this, and a free translation service (MyMemory) as a fallback.
- Words you choose to save go to your own LearnFast.life word list, together with the link to the page they came from.
- We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
1. Who is responsible
Word Lens is provided under the LearnFast.life brand ("LFL", "we", "us") by Noel Zmija-Maurice, trading as That Was Easy AI, Reiterweg 22, 14532, Kleinmachnow, Germany. Contact for privacy questions: office@learnfastlife.com.

2. What Word Lens does
When you select a word or short phrase on a web page, Word Lens shows a small pop-up with a German translation or an English explanation. You can then save the word to your LearnFast.life word list. You can switch the extension off at any time from its pop-up. When it is off, nothing happens on any page.

We do not collect your browsing history, the full text of the pages you visit, passwords you type on other sites, or any data from pages where you do not select text. The extension does not run on learnfastlife.com itself, because the site has its own built-in word tool.
4. Third parties that receive data
- Anthropic (AI provider): receives the selected text so that its Claude model can write the translation or explanation. We use it through our own server and our own account.
- MyMemory (free translation service, operated by Translated): receives the selected word when you are not logged in, when the daily AI limit has been reached, or when our server cannot return a translation.
Neither receives your name, email address or password from us. We do not sell your data and we do not share it for advertising or credit-scoring purposes. We use the data only to provide and improve the Word Lens features you see.
Word Lens's use and transfer of user data adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
5. Daily limits and emails
Free accounts have a daily allowance of AI explanations. If you reach it, Word Lens switches to the basic translation service and may send an email to your account address inviting you to upgrade. This is a service message about your use of Word Lens, not advertising from third parties.
6. How long we keep data
Saved words stay in your word list until you delete them or your LearnFast.life account is deleted. Daily usage counts are kept only as long as needed to run the limits. The login token stays in your browser until you log out or remove the extension.
7. Your choices and rights
- Switch Word Lens off from its pop-up, or remove it in Chrome at any time.
- Delete saved words from your word list on learnfastlife.com.
- You have the right to access, correct, delete or export your data, and to object to or restrict its processing. Contact us at office@learnfastlife.com and see our main Privacy Policy for details, including your right to complain to a data protection authority.
8. Legal basis (GDPR)
We process the data above to provide the feature you ask for when you select a word and use the extension (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), and for our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure and affordable through daily limits (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
9. Changes
If we change how Word Lens handles data, we will update this page and the date at the top. Material changes will also be noted in the extension's store listing.
